Getting to Taos
Traveling by Air
Albuquerque Sunport and Denver International are the closest
major airports. All major car rentals are available.
Taos is 135 miles north of Albuquerque, a 2-1/2 hour drive;
and 300 miles south of Denver, a 4-1/2 hour drive.
Traveling by Car
From the East or West: Take either I-40 to Albuquerque or I-70 to Denver,
and follow either the north or south instructions below.
From the South: In Albuquerque, take I-25 North.
Just south of Santa Fe, take NM 599 (relief route) to US 84/285 North.
In Espanola, take NM 68 to Taos.
From the North: In Denver, take I-25 South to Walsenburg.
Then take US 160 West to Fort Garland, then South CO 159 / NM 522 to Taos.
